At Joystiq's Weekly Webcomic Wrapup I trashed Monday Night Crew's comic, having this to say:

"Someday I think I'd like to make a guest comic for MNC. It'd be easy, since all I'd have to do is reuse a joke that gamers have been telling each other for years and somehow make it even more contrived and stupid"

Dover wasn't having any of that. So he offered the following challenge:

"As Joystiq as my witness, I will allow you to send in a guest comic that you have written and, if you'd like, I'll have my artist draw it for you.

Once it's completed, I'll post it up on our site so that your work can be critiqued by the internet masses. You never know, your work may propel us to the top of the poll and you may find out that you have a talent you never realized you had before.

Just so you know, I'm actually not being facetious here either. I've been entertaining the idea of trying a 'mail in script' idea for a while. You can be my very first, and hopefully not last, try at this experiment.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just been served. I'm going to give myself one week to complete my script before admitting defeat to Dover. In the meantime, does anyone have any ideas for topics I should discuss in my comic?

Over the weekend I was in a production of Romeo & Juliet, where I played Lord Capulet. It was a lot of fun. A lot of people considered it to be my finest performance (I have no idea who they are). Apparently, on Saturday, a producer came to the show and mentioned that he really liked me and my buddy Ben (who played Mercutio) and said that he'd keep an eye on me. Totally sweet. I'm gonna leave you fuckers in the dust and see my name up in lights! Cool, non?

I'll be taking a five-week LOA (Not that any of you care starting sometime near the end of June. Make sure to feed my plants while I'm gone.

Also, I hate stringing guitars, because I'm a complete drooling retard when it comes to doing it properly. Any of my fellow guitarists living in Connecticut want to mail me a Low-E string for an acoustic (preferably light guage. I play .012s but I'm sure a .011 or .013 wouldn't make much of a difference)

Also, this Connecticut weather is total B.S. We had like a 3-day heat wave and now it's raining and thundering. Fuck you, Mother Nature; Make up your mind.

Is it possible that anybody here would have any information on the artist who created that peice? Or possibly knows someone who does? If so, can you leave me a comment or send me a pm with what you know? I should have mentioned earlier that I have no idea who the artist is (which is why I'm asking you guys to help me find out, duh) or what website I got the picture from, since I found it on Google Image Search and didn't bother to look any further into its origin. Will people read your "blog" if you aren't a mod, admin, or artist? Judging by my last post, the answer is yes, but they won't really give a shit.

I mean, I'm something of a well-known user with a modest amount of clout (I'm positive now that there will be a wave of people who will assure me that I don not in fact have any "clout"), but does that even fucking mean anything when it comes to blog posts?

I don't even know why they thought this would be a good idea.
